Grief and Loss
It's like you can't breathe.
And then you try to breathe because you have to but it hurts so you just end up breathing tiny little breaths. Over and over.
It just can’t be real that
they're gone.
Grief has swallowed you up and you're living life from behind its teeth, watching yourself go through the motions because a life without that person doesn't feel like living.
I wish you had a choice in whether to bear this, but you do not. None of us do.
What you can choose is to find someone to help you bear it.

You may be numb.
Maybe ENRAGED.
You may be on your psychological and actual knees.
You are struggling to do the basic things or doing them on robot mode.
You may have children to care for and work to show up to.
If a person, pet, experience, or a part of yourself you deeply care for has died, I get it.
And slowly you'll breathe again.
